We are experiencing extremely high demand for flu shots this year. We are doing our best to accommodate all requests. If you are unable to book your flu shot now, please try again later today or tomorrow to see if additional appointments have become available due to appointment cancellations or additional appointments being offered.
Flu shots will be given by our staff, to our patients, through scheduled appointments at an Ottawa Public Health Influenza Joint Clinic in collaboration with Family First Health Centre.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment to receive your flu shot by clicking on the ‘Book your Flu Shot’ button below. This will redirect you to the online booking system. Once redirected, you will be prompted to enter your First Name, Last Name, Health Card Number and your Date of Birth to validate that you are a patient at Family First. You must also complete the Consent form to secure your booking.
Where will I get my flu shot?
Once you have booked an appointment to get your flu shot, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the location details. The flu shots will be given at:
Ottawa Public Library – Orléans Branch
1705 Orléans Blvd.
Orléans, ON K1C 4W2
Why am I getting my flu shot at a place other than my doctor’s office?
Acknowledging the challenges community healthcare providers face in administering influenza vaccines within their clinics in the setting of COVID-19 pandemic, Ottawa Public Health has offered space to vaccinate patients at community influenza vaccine clinics, to facilitate mass vaccine administration to their patients. This will allow for physical distancing and COVID-19 infection prevention and control.
What can I expect when I arrive?
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment and wear a mask. You will be greeted by a Public Health receptionist who will screen you and check you in for your flu shot. After you are checked-in and you receive the flu shot, you will be required to wait in a post-immunization monitoring area for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes is done, you may leave the immunization clinic.
What if I already got my flu shot somewhere else?
No problem! We recognize that you may have already received your flu shot, either at a pharmacy or an Ottawa Public Health Community Clinic. If you have already received your flu shot, please let us know so we can update your file and ensure we have the most up to date information in your record.
